🤓 a very interesting read on the founder of Signal, this & that's fav communication tool!

💨 hemp wicks. if you're hitting your pipe/bong once a day, then you need to buy yourself some hemp wicks. why? well every time you use a lighter to combust your flower, you're inhaling butane. and we don't need that! butane also impacts the taste of your flower and terpenes because it burns at a high temperature. hemp wick burns at a lower temperature which allows for a smoother, longer hit ---> tasting terpenes! also a cooler temp smoke is much better for the lungs. head to etsy/internet and grab a beeswax hemp wick (i love the smell of beeswax). there are vegan options, but im not a fan of how they smell

🍛 angel indian restaurant. literally the best indian food i've had in ny. once covid hit they did add meat to their menu- but i would skip. stick to the veggie. they also have a vegan menu which is pretty decent. but yeah i love ghee and their paneer is UNREAL. so soft. not rubbery or chewy. make an adventure out of it if you don't live in queens! some of my fav dishes include lotus root kofta, paneer makhni, lassuni gobi, and pani puri (sadly doesn't travel well, eat asap)

📚MFK Fisher- THE food writer of food writing. i love all of her work, but the most memorable, which happened to be the first book i picked up of hers, was Consider the Oyster. the way she describes oysters. they way she describes the act of eating! another one that i loved was The Gastronomical Me. read ittttt. and all her other work :)

🥭 feeling like the flower isn't hitting the same way it used to? its not so much that you have built a high tolerance- more like your cannabinoid receptors downregulated- which means they decreased in numbers. eat or drink something with myrcene- a terpene found in many foods and in cannabis! myrcene helps thc and other cannabinoids cross the blood/brain barrier easily. you can use mangos- but its def not seasonal where im at right now and i can't imagine a mango flown in tasting that good atm :( BUT! you can find myrcene in lemongrass, bay leaf, and thyme.

🧂 i came across Diaspora Co on a trip to oakland, ca- when the only spice they offered was turmeric. and fuck their turmeric is so good! the colors it produces (esp when making a turmeric lemon tea cake) is unreal! Diaspora Co has expanded their offerings and im so grateful! yeah its $$, but as it should be- PAY FARMERS MORE THAN A LIVING WAGE! spices shouldn't be cheap and it's time to end our colonialist view on the worth of spices. ~bonus~ these spices go a long way because they're so flavorful and i would rather use it up vs getting old in my kitchen

📚 the world after capital is quite the book. first it's a work in progress. its published on github, and it's free. imagine what the world could look like after capitalism. while part of me is like- ah cool thought experiment- the other part of me- esp after seeing what covid has done- is like oh hell yes we can do this. our current system was built by humans, why can't humans evolve to new systems, a new of living? note. this was written by wealthy white man- his privileges allowed him to explore and imagine a life after capital. take what you want and leave the rest
