magnolia flowers- forage them! eat them!

Alexis Nikole, aka blackforager, recently posted a video on making sugar cookies with magnolia flowers that were so beautiful, but i don't love sugar cookies and i moved on. but it's like- wait a minute. magnolia flowers are edible?! yes! they are and they taste like ginger!

a week or so later my dear friend Mary-Rose posted about foraging for magnolias to fry. and i was like WHAT?! she sent me over to Zoe Yang's ig post on frying magnolia flowers. it was so much fun to make- the flowers puff up in the oil! and they were SO TASTY. i'll be making some every day while the flowers are in bloom. its a good reason to get me out of the house- gotta forage magnolia flowers.
