cbd + fitness

I recently headed to the alchemists kitchen for a workshop on cbd + fitness. the workshop was very accessible and informative. we discussed how cbd works with our physical bodies, dosing recommendations, and what cbd can be stacked with in regards to fitness (ginseng and turmeric also reduce inflammation). a few takeaways i want to share

-before your work out cbd can be stimulating or relaxing based on the time of day you ingest cbd (in the morning our bodies create endorphins leading to a more stimulating experience // at night our bodies create melatonin, so cbd can act more like a sedative)

-during your workout cbd acts acts on/with the parasympathetic system (which is part of the autonomic nervous system aka the part of the nervous system responsible for bodily functions not consciously directed like breathing, heartbeat, and digestion) which can lead to deeper breathwork resulting a v meditative experience

-after your workout cbd regulates and increases the NRF2 EA gene (which protects against inflammation). so essentially cbd assists with anti-inflammation kinda acting like a cold bath. and let me tell you, using cbd products on the ankle I broke is kinda life changing, the swelling goes down so much


PS our bodies naturally make cannabinoids too!
